Looking for a playgroup for your child? Wanting to connect with other parents with similar aged children?
CHCMC is currently forming closed playgroups for all ages — Newborns too! If you are interested in meeting up regularly with other moms (or dads) and their kids, new and renewing members can indicate this on the membership form and current members can send the following information to playgroups@
— your name
— the birthdate (or due date) and gender of each child
— your preferred meeting time (weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, as specific as you’d like)
— your preferred communication method (email, phone or both)
— your preferred meeting location(s) (Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Durham, Chatham County, etc.)
— any additional information (i.e. interested in getting together with other pregnant moms, interested in getting together with other dads, looking for other families who speak Spanish, etc.)
Once we have received your information and your dues, we will connect you with the closed playgroup(s) for your child or children(s) age group(s), and send you a listing of all club parents who are looking to meet up. The contact person for your age-specific playgroup will fill you in on your group’s current meeting schedule, but you are also free to contact other families on the list who have similar schedules, ages of children, interests and/or who live nearby. The goal is for this to result in lasting and satisfying playgroups for everyone! Of course, you may request to be removed from the list at any time, and please note, that we will automatically remove you from the list when your membership expires.
Remember that the playgroups are for new and expecting moms too! There are so many questions, issues and new experiences that come up for new moms from day- to-day, and having regular gatherings with other new moms is a great way to get support, advice and much-needed social time. Many great friendships — for mother and baby — are often forged in these early months.
