Closed Playgroups

If you are interested in joining a closed playgroup and are new to the club you can indicate this on your membership form. As soon as we receive your membership dues, we forward your information to our playgroup coordinator, who will connect you with other members who have children close in age to yours.

Please send the following information via email to our closed playgroups coordinator:

• Your name
• Child/Children’s first names
• Child/Children’s birthdate(s)
• Preferred playgroup day/time preference (weekdays/weekends and mornings/afternoons)
• Email

Remember that the Chapel Hill Carrboro Mothers Club’s Closed Playgroups are for expecting moms too! There are so many questions, issues and new experiences that come up for new moms from day- to-day, and having regular gatherings with other new moms is a great way to get support, advice and much-needed social time. Many great friendships — for mother and baby — are often forged in these early months!

Who: Newborn playgroups usually have 8 to 10 new moms with babies up to three months old at the time the group begins.

What: Moms share experiences, ask questions, offer supports and show off their new babies.

Where: Group members meet at one another’s homes based on a schedule that your group creates.

When: Groups typically meet once a week at a mutually convenient time, although you can certainly meet more frequently!

After signing up, please be patient. It can take several weeks or even months to get a sizable playgroup together with babies of the same age, so expectant moms are encouraged to sign up as early as possible so that your group is already organized when you’re ready for it!
