Parental participation required: Parental involvement is encouraged and considered vital to the growth of our learning community but no mandatory hours.
Special Features: This is a half-day kindergarten adjacent to our home located on 8 acres of woods and gardens. We believe that children are strong and capable, and that they have an inborn delight in learning. Small class size, beautiful learning environment, lots of time spent outside in nature, rich arts environment as well as literacy and math activities for children who are ready. This is truly an old-fashioned kindergarten for those wishing to have a more balanced kindergarten year than the traditional public schools now allow. Some children do enter first grade after attending Orchard Hill. Orchard Hill Children’s School can also be used as a transitional kindergarten for 5-year-olds who would like to have an extra year of time to grow and learn before entering a more traditional kindergarten setting.
