Age range: 18 months–12 years (Pre-K to 6th grade)

Tuition: 2011-2012: Pre-Three (ages 18 months – 2 years), $8380; Preschool (ages 3 and 4), $7310; Kindergarten, $9460; Grades 1–3, $11,230; Grades 4–6, $11,540. Early morning and after school care is available for students ages 3 and up for additional fees. All fees listed are annual.

Scholarships available: No, but financial aid is available based on eligibility.

Accreditation: One of four schools in NC accredited by the American Montessori Society

Application deadline: Applications are accepted any time; admissions notifications sent beginning late February/early March.

Application fee: $100, non-refundable

School starts: School begins in late August and ends in early June. Summer Camp runs June through August, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.

School runs: Pre-Three, 8:30 – 11:45 a.m.; Pre-K, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; Kindergarten, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; 1st – 6th grades, 8:10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Before School Care, 7:45-8:30 a.m.; After School Care, 12 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Class size: 12–22 children depending on the class

Student:teacher ratio: maximum 11:1 (6:1 for Pre-Three)

Boy/girl quota: We try to balance classes as much as possible.

How toilet-trained do children need to be? Our preference is to have children toilet-trained prior to beginning school (except in Pre-Three class).

Parental participation required: We ask that all parents sign our Family-School Partnership agreement, and participate in Parent Education Nights and volunteer opportunities as they are able.

Special features: 1st through 6th grade classes participate in Spanish. Kindergarten through 6th grade participate in art and physical education. Music is a part of every school day.
