Scholarships available:

Accreditation: All Legacy Academy Preschools are required to be NAEYC accredited within 18-24 months of opening, all Legacy Academy Preschools are required to be 5 Star rated in NC within 6-12 months of opening.

Application fee: $150.00 annually

School starts: NEW preschool, grand opening – late September 2011

School runs: 7:00 am-6:00 pm

Class size: Each class room maximum number by age group is aligned with NC 5 Star Criteria, for example, we will have a maximum of 8 infants/infant room

Student:teacher ratio:  The maximum number of children per teacher is listed below, in many cases the number of children per teacher may be lower.   6 wks – 12 mo = 4:1   13 mo – 24 mo = 5:1   25 mo – 36 mo = 5:1   37 mo – 48 mo = 9:1  Preschool: 4s into early 5s =10:1   After School = 12:1  Kindergarten = 12:1

Boy/girl quota: Strive for balance, no quota

How toilet-trained do children need to be?  Not required

Parental participation required: Parents are partners in the growth, development and education of their child. Regular progress assessments are conducted and reviewed with parents. Parents are provided with daily summaries of their child’s activities and are encouraged, but not required, to participate in class time, activities, and events scheduled throughout the year.

  • LA Chapel Hill provides optimal nutrition for snacks and midday meals including the freshest natural foods, complete proteins and dairy-free of antibiotics, hormones, fertilizers and dyes of concern. We believe optimal nutrition enhances optimal learning.
  • For parents that need a nurturing and quality care litmus test, or have been looking for something more for their child, our program standards are research based, approved, referenced and implemented by leading professionals in the field and are a proven indicator for individualized later school success.
